DUI cases head to Schuylkill court
All of the defendants scheduled to have July 20 preliminary hearings before District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua on DUI-related charges elected to wait to have their cases heard in the Schuylkill County Court. They included:
Stanley C. Moldenhauer, 35, of 21 Wayne Ave., Tamaqua, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating a vehicle without insurance, hit-and-run and criminal mischief. The charges were filed by Rush Township Police Sgt. Duane Frederick after a May 2 incident where Moldenhauer hit a parked car and a mailbox.Moldenhauer was released on his own recognizance.Harry B. Lentz III, 52, of Third Street, Kelayres, was charged with two counts of DUI and failure to stop at a red light by McAdoo patrolman William Curilla. The charges were filed after an April 12 incident.Lentz was released on his own recognizance.Jake Aaron Love, 20, of 250 Whitetail Crossing Road, Tamaqua, was charged with three counts of DUI, driving an unregistered vehicle and purchase/consumption of alcohol by a minor. The charges were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Thomas Rodgers after an April 3 incident.Love was released on his own recognizance.Michelle A. Weaver, 42, of 613 S. Hancock St. Rear, McAdoo, was charged with two counts of DUI and failure to keep right. The charges were filed by Rush Township patrolman Bradley Hess following an April 9 incident.Weaver was released on her own recognizance.Franklin J. Kunkel III, 24, of 101 E. High St., Coaldale, was charged with two counts of DUI, accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle or property, failure to notify police of an accident and careless driving. The charges stem from an April 29 accident and were filed by Coaldale patrolman Charles Blesse.Kunkel was released on his own recognizance.Drew A. Strohl, 54, of 52 E. Howard Ave., Coaldale, was charged with two counts of DUI and disregard of a traffic lane after a May 10 incident. The charges were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Bradley Hess.Strohl was released on his own recognizance.Drug casesChristopher Martin Miller, 26, of 235 E. Ridge St., Lansford, waived a hearing on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged by Tamaqua patrolman Brigdon Odhner after a June 20 incident.Miller was released on his own recognizance.Joseph Anthony Rolenaitis, 22, of 4 Main St., Middleport, waived his preliminary hearing on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The charges were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Joseph Krebs after a June 21 incident.Rolenaitis was released on his own recognizance.
