Palmerton youth can dress up in their favorite costumes next month.

Borough Mayor William Gallagher announced at Thursday’s borough council meeting that trick-or-treat will in fact be held from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 31.

He said his decision to move the event from its usual time of 6-8 p.m. was made for safety to avoid any kids getting hit by cars.

The borough’s annual Halloween parade was previously canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
