Sam Carey from the Hope Community Fellowship Church in Weissport was in attendance at the Weissport Borough Council meeting to give details on the movie night the church is sponsoring.

The free family movie night will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25 in the borough park.

The rain date is for Sept. 26. Prepackaged popcorn bags and bottled water will be provided at no cost. A free, church-sponsored raffle will also be held.

After hearing about the event, Mario’s Pizza in Weissport offered to donate pizzas during the movie. Social distancing guidelines will be in effect. Families attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets while spacing out from others.

Borough council members are providing the audio equipment to make the film sound like a real movie, and the church is supplying a large projection screen.
