Five defendants revoked from probation program
Five defendants in criminal matters had their placement in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program for first-time offenders revoked for violating the conditions of the program.
Their revocations were the result of petitions filed by the adult probation office.The five were:James Cockrell, 25, of Mount Pocono, was placed in the program on a charge of theft by unlawful taking. Probation officer Kimberly Cooper moved to have him revoked from the program for violating conditions by not paying off his fines and costs and failing to complete drug and alcohol treatment.Robert Mason, 44, of Lehighton, had his placement on a charge of theft by unlawful taking revoked on petition of Cooper for violating conditions by being arrested by Lehigh Township police for theft and repeated counts and later convicted of the theft count.Timothy Eckhart, 28, of Lehighton, was revoked from the program on a charge of simple assault on petition of probation officer Clifford Eckhart for violating conditions by failing to report to the probation office as directed, failing to submit to scheduled drug screens, failing to pay court costs, and failing to perform 15 hours of community service.Derek Lee Thompson, 22, of Nesquehoning, had his placement revoked on a charge of possession of marijuana on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by testing positive for a controlled substance, failing to pay court costs and failing to perform 50 hours of community service.Matthew Fritzinger, 26, of Lehighton, was revoked on a charge of theft by unlawful taking on petition of probation officer Jillian C. McGinley for violating conditions by having new charges filed against him by state police at Lehighton for DUI, not paying his court costs and failing to complete 50 hours of community service.All five were placed on the next available pretrial list.
