The Lansford Historical Society is extending an invitation to the general public to stop by during Spring Open house from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the society's Bertsch Street headquarters.

"We have added many more unique historical artifacts to our museum collection in the past year and we encourage anyone interested in local history to come by to browse the exhibits and see the new artifacts and photos which have been added to the museum," said President Bill Harleman. The event also will give local residents a chance to hear traditional folks songs and period music courtesy of gifted musician Dave Matsinko of Lehighton.Matsinko, a Panther Valley native and graduate of Panther Valley High School and Lock Haven University, is a popular performer at history venues such as the Tamaqua Heritage Festival and Eckley Miners Village.Matsinko recently performed at the Jim Thorpe Birthday celebration and at Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm near Stroudsburg and was featured at a Civil War/Abraham Lincoln presentation at the Schuylkill County Historical Society in Pottsville in April.Matsinko mixes music and history in his own special way and is always delighted to perform before his hometown friends and neighbors.Refreshments will be available. The Lansford Historical Society Museum is located at 117 E.
