Woman charged with stabbing boyfriend multiple times while driving
A Lehighton woman has been charged with stabbing her boyfriend multiple times while driving during an argument.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by trooper George Tessitore of the Pennsylvania State Police, Fern Ridge barracks, in the case against Beth White:
At around 1 a.m. Monday, Tessitore was dispatched to Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township for a report of a man stabbed in the back and arm.
Upon arrival, Tessitore met with the victim, who said that he was driving in a vehicle with his girlfriend, White, 35, when they engaged in an argument.
The victim said that White punched him in the face three times while she was driving, and that they both got out of the vehicle and were standing on Old Stage Road when White pulled out a pink knife from her bra and swung it at him, cutting him on the right bicep.
The man said he went to get his wallet out of the vehicle and was stabbed in the lower back by White, who then fled the scene.
Tessitore observed about a 2-inch cut on the victim’s left bicep, and he was also heavily bleeding from a knife wound to the lower right side of his back, about 2 inches to the right of his spine.
The victim was treated on scene by members of the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad Ambulance and transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre for further treatment.
White was taken into custody at her residence by Lehighton police.
White was found to have a bag containing methamphetamine inside of her wristlet when taken into custody. She was then transferred into custody of state police and transported to Fern Ridge for the completion of criminal charges.
White faces charges of aggravated assault; the controlled substance, drug device and cosmetic act; simple assault; harassment; and disorderly conduct.
She is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000, 10 percent monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing July 22 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
