Panther Valley School officials are asking for the public's help to catch the vandal or vandals who damaged the district's intermediate school last weekend.
District Superintendent Dennis R. Kergick Sr. updated the school board on the vandalism at their meeting Thursday night.Sometime between Friday evening and Saturday morning, someone shattered eight sets of windows and a plate glass door at the school, Kergick said.He said that anyone with information leading to the arrest of the vandals, should contact police.Kergick said that the district intends to process the responsible parties to the fullest extent of the law.The damage was discovered Saturday morning. The vandals also toppled portable toilets and garbage cans used by the Panther Valley Youth Soccer Association.Kergick thanked the district maintenance staff who worked throughout the day Saturday to clean up the damage."There was a work crew here pretty much all day Saturday," Kergick said.Kergick said the school has employed additional security measures since the vandalism occurred, and plans to implement more."The district will be exploring additional security measures in order to curb any further violations or vandalism to our buildings and district property," he said.The board also voted to approve a three-year contract with Waste Management to provide trash hauling services for the district. The contract will cost the district $3,253.11 per month.
