Woman struck mother with faucet, head-butted father

An Effort woman has been charged with assault after she struck her mother with a faucet and head-butted her father during an argument.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by trooper Jonathan Lazarchick of the Pennsylvania State Police Fern Ridge barracks:

At 7:28 p.m. June 26, troopers from the Fern Ridge barracks arrived at a home in the 1200 block of Quiet Hills Lane, Chestnuthill Township, for a report of a physical domestic.

Lazarchick said a couple was in the driveway and said their daughter, Ashley Penny, 30, was still in the residence.

The mother had a large cut that was bleeding from the top of the head.

A woman confirmed to be Ashley Penny came out on the second story level.

She told police she was at her residence waiting for a Realtor, and that her mother and father arrived at her residence.

Penny said that they all began arguing regarding her vehicle.

She said that her parents then “kicked down the front door” and entered her residence.

Penny said that she, her mother and her father got into a fight, and that her parents “grabbed her” and attempted to pull her out of the residence.

She said that she grabbed the kitchen faucet and it broke from the sink.

Penny said that she then “accidentally” struck her mother in the head with the faucet.

She was then taken into custody.

The mother told police she and her husband arrived at the home and an argument ensued.

The mother said once they were on the deck, Penny left the residence and struck her in the head with a faucet, cutting her.

The mother said her husband “grabbed” Penny in an attempt to restrain her, but Penny then “head-butted” her husband in the face, causing his dentures to be damaged and fall from his mouth.

The father said Penny struck his wife “in the head with a faucet.”

He said he attempted to gain control of Penny, but she struck him in the face with the back of her head, causing his dentures to “break” and fall out of his mouth.

Both the mother and father were treated on scene by Pocono Mountain Regional EMS.

Penny faces charges on three counts of simple assault; and two counts each of aggravated assault; recklessly endangering another person; and harassment.

She is currently incarcerated in the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
