                Carbon County will become the owner of an additional 11 acres of Conrail land which will include the former Central Railroad of New Jersey Station.
                The land acquisition includes the station, the former track area now utilized by Jim Thorpe Borough as a municipal parking lot, the Asa Packer Park between the former depot building and Susquehanna Street, the former CNJ yard area beyond Jim Thorpe’s Borough Bridge and the land paralleling the tracks along Susquehanna Street.
                The county is acquiring the property at a cost of $86,000. It will compliment land formerly purchased by the county that includes 19.6 miles of track in the name of the Nesquehoning Branch Line for $991,487.
