Two Monroe County residents are facing charges of prostitution and related offenses following a sting operation conducted by the Monroe County District Attorney's Office.
Authorities said Eileen C. Leondis, 24, of 9214 Westwood Drive, Tobyhanna, has been charged with promoting prostitution and disorderly conduct. Police are seeking the wherabouts of John A. Dealbertis VI, 52, of 103 Sycamore Circle, Albrightsville, on charges of promoting prostitution, flight to avoid apprehension, fleeing and eluding police, and recklessly endangering another person.According to Detectives Kim Lippincott and Joseph Coddington, of the DA's office, on Wednesday about 2:30 p.m. Detective Mario Orlando responded to an ad posted on the website,
www.backpage.com, in the adult entertainment-escort section. The ad included several photographs of a scantily clad female, posing in a sexual nature. Once he contacted the female an arrangement was made for one hour of oral sex with the female in exchange for $230, to take place at the Pocono Inne Town in Stroudsburg. At about 4 p.m. the female contacted the undercover officer and said she was in the parking lot of the hotel.Police walked through the parking lot and observed a gold vehicle with a female in the passenger seat who appeared to be the female in the photographs on the ad. She got out of the vehicle and met the officer. The two engaged in conversation while they walked into the hotel lobby. At that point the undercover officer indicated to the other officers that he had met the female and discussed the sexual act.At that point the other officers moved to arrest the driver of the gold car. As police approached they yelled to the driver, "Police, don't move," while displaying their badges. The driver then fled while police continued to yell who they were and to stop. The driver fled through the parking lot at a high rate of speed and left the lot by driving through a cone and over a curb. Police said the area of the hotel parking lot is traveled by many people on foot. Police said people walking through the lot had to run for their safety at the time the defendant fled.Police then spoke with Leondis, who told them she was a heroin addict and has sex to support her habit. She identified the driver of the fleeing car as Dealbertis. She said she pays him to drive her to her dates. She also stated she lives with him in Albrightsville.Police said Dealbertis was positively identified as the driver of the fleeing vehicle when they obtained his driver's license photo.Dealbertis is still being sought.
