Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday gave the Adult Probation Department permission to buy a 2016 police utility vehicle for $27,503 from Kovatch Mobile Equipment of Nesquehoning.

The vehicle will replace an old Impala that has been out of commission for about a year, said Joseph Szeliga of the department.In other matters, commissioners agreed to seek bids for a 2013 Community Development Block Grant Americans with Disabilities Act project in West Penn Township.The bids will be due in the controller's office on Oct. 12, with a bid opening on Oct. 14 and tentative award date of Oct. 21.The project will build a wheelchair accessible entrance at the township municipal building.
