Luke A. Reiner, a 2015 graduate of Weatherly Area High School, was recently chosen to receive one of the 2015 Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarships. His application was chosen by the Foundation for Enhancing Communities from applicants throughout the state. This award is presented to two applicants annually.
Luke and his family were guests at the Capitol in Harrisburg, where he was presented with the award during the House's session. They then enjoyed a luncheon and special tour with state Rep. Doyle Heffley.Reiner is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Interact Club, basketball team, was Weatherly High School's January Student of the Month and the Elks Student of the Month for December.He is involved in the community by volunteering at Lehigh Valley Hospital's Flu Clinic, Easter Seals and at Centenary United Methodist, where he is a member. He is employed at Redner's Market in Nesquehoning.Luke will attend Penn State in the fall to major in kinesiology and business.
