Bowman Park Camp

Bowman Park Camp will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Tabernacle at the corner of Mill and Ore streets in Bowmanstown.The Teen Challenge Choir will perform. The choir consists of young men from all over the U.S. and each member is unique as they are coming from a background of drug, alcohol and/or crime. You are sure to be touched as they sing, perform and testify to God's transforming power.For information call the church office of Faith Alive United Methodist Church, at 610-852-2805.There is parking off Lime Street. This is an outdoor event.PPRAC Ride XVIIThe Pennsylvania Perimeter Ride Against Cancer will be held from Sunday through Aug. 8. On Sunday, over 60 cyclists will gather at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Palmerton for the final send-off to start this year's ride.On Monday, they will begin pedaling from Syracuse, New York, around the Finger Lakes, then back home to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Palmerton. They will ride over 500 miles to support the American Cancer Society and Dream Come True.There will be a butterfly release at the Palmerton Borough Park before the riders board the bus to Syracuse.All are invited to gather at Holy Trinity before the release and walk as a group to the park. The approximate timeline for the morning is 8-8:30 a.m.Everyone is invited to gather at the church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. At 8:30 a.m. a brief service will be held and at 8:45 a.m. those who are able will walk to the park.At 9:15 a final prayer will be given and the butterfly release will take place. The riders will board the bus at 9:30 a.m. Please come to the park and support this ride.Members and friends and the supporters of the PPRAC riders are welcome back to the church for the conclusion of the worship service and the celebration of Holy Communion.Park concertOn Sunday, the Pennsylvania Villagers will perform in the Palmerton Borough Park Bandstand beginning at 7 p.m. This concert is sponsored by Pencor Services Inc.There is no rain date for any concert, and in the event of inclement weather, the Bandstand Committee reserves the right the cancel the concert. Bring your own lawn chair.On Aug. 9 will be a concert by the Hazleton Band.St. John's Episcopal ChurchSt. John's Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will host an indoor yard sale at the church from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 7 and 8.
