Probations revoked in Carbon County

Carbon County judges conducted parole/probation revocation hearings on petitions filed by the adult probation office against defendants who violated the terms of their release.

John Ruzicka, 28, of Lehighton, had his probation revoked on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and theft on petition of probation officer Jillian C. McGinley for violating conditions by testing positive for marijuana, amphetamine and opiates, failing to obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation, and violating the zero-tolerance condition.Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced him to serve three to six months in the county prison effective April 6.Diane Lutz, 46, of Lehighton, had her probation revoked on a charge of unsworn falsification on petition of McGinley for violating conditions by being arrested on Dec. 29, 2014, and having in her possession drug paraphernalia.President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II resentenced her to serve six to 12 months in the county prison effective Jan. 23.Michael Wine, 38, of Albrightsville, had his probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of probation officer Joseph Bettine for violating conditions by not making a concerted effort to pay court costs, failing to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and failing to complete 75 hours of community service.Judge Steven R. Serfass resentenced him to serve three to six months in the county prison effective Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. If he completes an alcohol program, obtains a D&A evaluation, completes 75 hours of community service and pays $700 on his costs, along with his regular monthly payments by that date the order will be vacated.Katlin Fronheiser, 23, of Lehighton, had her probation revoked on a charge of retail theft on petition of McGinley for violating conditions by testing positive for opiates, which violated the zero-tolerance condition.Matika resentenced her to serve 90 days to 12 months in the county prison effective April 6.Paul Moon, 27, of West Hazleton, had his parole revoked on a charge of retail theft on petition of Bettine for violating conditions by failing to submit to a urine screen, which violated the zero-tolerance condition.Matika resentenced him to serve six months back time effective Feb. 24.Donald Long, 39, of Lehighton, had his probation revoked on a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police on petition of probation officer Toby M. Butz for violating conditions by not completing 100 hours of community service.Serfass resentenced Long to serve 15 to 45 days in the county prison with his release date set for June 5.Wesley Behler, 23, of Lehighton, had his parole revoked on a charge of theft from a motor vehicle on petition of Butz for violating conditions by failing to report to the probation office as directed and testing positive for morphine and methamphetamine.Serfass resentenced him to serve six months in the county prison effective Feb. 19 with his release date set for Aug. 18.Corey Rehrig, 26, of Jim Thorpe, had his probation revoked on a charge of receiving stolen property on petition of Butz for violating conditions by not having a verifiable address and testing positive for opiates.Serfass resentenced him to serve 40 to 80 days in the county prison effective April 1, with the order stating he must serve the full 80 days.ARD revokedTwo people were revoked from the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program for violating conditions.Janine Ringlaben, 24, of Lehighton, was revoked on petition of Butz for violating conditions by having new criminal charges filed against her. She was placed on a retail theft charge.Samantha Kuntz, 26, of Walnutport, was revoked from the program on petition of Butz on a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance for violating conditions by testing positive for morphine and being unsuccessfully discharged from drug and alcohol treatment.Both defendants had their cases placed on the next pretrial list.Violates bailAdam Reich, 27, of Weissport, had his bail revoked for violating the conditions of his pretrial services on petition of McGinley. He violated his bail by being arrested on new criminal charges and testing positive for opiates.He was committed to the county prison after failing to post $5,000 straight cash bail set by Serfass.
