Mrs. Arlene Shoop became the first woman to be elected commander of the Dolon-Jones-Martino American Legion Post.
The former Arlene Heydt, she served in the WACs during World War II.Other officers elected were Bruno Schlecht, first vice commander; Joseph Lazorick, second vice commander; Robert Mayor, finance officer; Francis O'Donnell, sergeant-at-arms; Ralston Jones, historian; and Theodore Hinger, chaplain.New members accepted during the same meeting included Leonard Jordan, George Strohl and Frederick Stehle.
