Tamaqua neighbors cited after dispute

Two Tamaqua neighbors who began arguing when officers were writing a parking ticket for one of their vehicles were cited with disorderly conduct, police said.

According to police, officers were called to the 200 block of Washington Street on Oct. 13 for a report of a parked truck with an expired inspection. The man who made the report, Jeffrey Knadler, 67, said that he was having issues with the owner of the vehicle, Daniel Piotek, specifically a bright porch light that drowns out his Halloween decorations.

Police saw Piotek’s vehicle, which had an expired inspect

ion but valid registration. Piotek came outside as police were writing the ticket and told officers that he has ongoing issues with Knadler.

Police said Knadler then came outside and began having an exchange with Piotek.

As police were taking the ticket to Piotek, he yelled an obscenity to Knadler. Police said Knadler then “got in Piotek’s face” and Piotek said Knadler threatened to kill him.

Officers told Piotek that if he wanted Knadler charged, that he would also be charged for yelling the obscenity.
