A Brodheadsville man has been charged with endangering others during an incident in Chestnuthill Township.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Shannon Grundmann of the Pennsylvania State Police, Fern Ridge barracks, in the case against Brian Stoudt:
At 4 p.m. on Oct. 15, PSP Fern Ridge barracks responded to a home in the 100 block of Fellows Glen Road, for the report of a suicidal man.
A female resident said that on Wednesday, Stoudt placed a handgun in the hands of a man with dementia with the barrel facing Stoudt.
The woman said Stoudt repeated the actions Thursday and she called police.
She said Stoudt was aware of the man’s mental decline.
When troopers arrived, Stoudt was believed to be in a trailer about 30 to 50 yards from the residence and the other man’s residence.
Stoudt’s truck, a Toyota Tundra, was parked outside of the trailer.
Troopers then established a perimeter surrounding the residence, and attempted to hail Stoudt out of the residence through an intercom speaker, but Stoudt failed to follow commands.
Stoudt faces charges on two counts of recklessly endangering another person, and one count of terroristic threats.
He is currently incarcerated in the Monroe County Prison in lieu of $15,000 monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on Nov. 5 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso.
