Polk, Chestnuthill, Pl. Vy. grads have 82nd reunion

A happy, buzzy gathering filled the Polk Township Fire Hall in Kresgeville last Saturday as a delicious meal was enjoyed by a large group of members of the Polk, Chestnuthill and Pleasant Valley High School graduates holding their 82nd alumni reunion.

Their meal service was provided by many local friends and members of the Polk Township Fire Company Auxiliary.

The banner of that reunion was “Cherish Yesterday, Live Today and Dream of Tomorrow.”

Presiding over the joyful gathering were Norman Burger, president; Gary Shupp, vice president; George Moretz, second vice president; Fern (Brotzman) Smith, secretary; Nancy (Snyder) Smith, assistant secretary; Darlene (Kresge) Beers, treasurer; and Judy (Kresge) Smith (assistant treasurer.)

All were reelected during the business meeting except for Smith, who had submitted her retirement.

The group’s officers were all involved in presenting door prizes brought by the schools’ many members as conversations and memories flowed while friends greeted friends and neighbors, some coming many miles.

The classes of 1956 and 1966 were recognized, and all who attended were thanked for being a part of a memorable afternoon, encouraged to have safe trip home and told, “We hope to see all of you next year.”
