John Schickram, Tamaqua, was installed as commander of the C.H. Berry American Legion Post, Tamaqua, during a ceremony held at the post home. John Domin of Coaldale, 13th District commander, was the installing officer.

Schickram is succeeding Karl Smulligan as the leader of the post.

Other officers installed are Wayne Truskey, first vice commander; John McCormick, second vice commander; Daniel Novak, sergeant-at-arms; Larry Moore, chaplain; Henry Seip, service and financial officer; Vincent Bokus, historian; and Charles Nicholls, adjutant.

Commander Schickram, in his message to the group, said, “My theory is that a post that plays together stays together. My goal while in office is the membership will increase and everyone will work hard.”
