Dog bites postal worker in Freeland

Jeremy Lindquist, 41, of Freeland, was cited for Dog Law violations after one of his two dogs that escaped from his residence bit a U.S. Postal Service worker, police said.

State police at the Hazleton barracks said the incident occurred at 1:08 p.m. July 25 on Schwabe Street in Freeland.

Police said Lindquist failed to secure the two dogs, who ran at the postal worker, a 23-year-old woman from Delano, on the sidewalk of an adjacent residence. They said one of the dogs bit her in the arm, resulting in minor injuries.

She was treated at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Police said neither of the dogs were registered or vaccinated for rabies.
