Concourse Club gives conservation donation

The Concourse Club of Palmerton recently presented the Lehigh River Stocking Association with a $100 donation as part of the club’s ongoing dedication to conservation groups in our community.

The Lehigh River Stocking Association conducts studies of the Lehigh River and its tributaries to record insect and plant life and monitors chemical levels of oxygen and nitrates.

The organization’s largest project to date is an aeration system to help filter out heavy metal contaminants from the Lausanne Tunnel area.

Additionally, members do river cleanups in the springtime along with bait-fish studies. For additional information on the LRSA, visit the website www.lrsa.org.

The Concourse Club is a women’s service organization serving Palmerton and the surrounding communities. If you are interested in joining the club or receiving additional information, message the organization’s Facebook page.
