The Carbon County 4-H program will be hosting a free roller-skating party for any youth ages 5-18 who might be interested in joining or learning more about what 4-H is all about on Sept. 13. The event will be held at LaRose’s Skating Rink, which celebrated 100 years in business this year.

Registration for the new 4-H year opens in October. Registration for the year is $30. There are 4 year-round clubs in Carbon County. The Carbon County Livestock Club focuses on youth interested in livestock, farming, & animal husbandry. Mahoning Valley Community & North Carbon Community Clubs offer programs such as sewing, photography, expressive arts, fishing, shooting sports, beekeeping, cooking, and much more.

The Silver Spurs 4-H club offers members interested in horses, programs about caring for and riding horses & participating in horsemanship contests.

Carbon County 4-H offers day programs throughout the year, as well as a one week summer residential camp. Short-term clubs such as potato judging are available and registered 4-H members have access to many state & national opportunities as well.
