Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday said the state’s Child Predator Section secured a state prison sentence for a Schuylkill County man on charges of possession of sexual abuse material files.
“This significant prison sentence considers the defendant’s conduct for what it is - exploitation and abuse of children,” Sunday said of the prison term of up 16 years ordered Robert Troutman, 58, recently in Schuylkill County Court. “Our Child Predator Section is committed to finding offenders online and putting a stop to their targeting of kids,” the attorney general said.
Troutman pleaded guilty at the courthouse in Pottsville last week of possession of dozens of the sexual abuse files commonly referred to as CSAM. He was sentenced to 8-16 years in a state prison and ordered to register as a sex offender upon release for 15 years.
Sunday said agents from the Office of the Attorney General agents responded to a tip that an IP address (matched to Troutman) was uploading CSAM.
Upon serving a search warrant at Troutman’s Schuylkill Haven home in 2024, agents found more than 50 files of CSAM, most depicting very young children.
