The Fowler, Dick and Walker Boston stores in the Laurel Mall, Hazleton, and downtown Wilkes-Barre, have been sold to Boscov’s Department Stores of Reading, it was announced bt Boscov’s president Albert R. Boscov.

He said his firm assumes the operations of the Wilkes-Barre store today while the Hazleton store will come under Boscov’s direction in mid-October after extensive renovations are completed.

With the addition of these two stores, Boscov’s will now have a chain of eight stores. The other ones are located in the Reading, Lebanon, Pottsville, and Sunbury area.

Boscov said the newest additions to the chain will be completely renovated and redecorated.
