Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on July 30 with 23 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the invocation, “This Day is Full of Promise,” recited by a member. One member was added to the sick list.

The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

The 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will have a joyous noise offering. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m.

Tuesday is the September newsletter deadline. The prayer group meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Retirees meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The Aug. 16 Sunday service will have the blessing of backpacks.

Calvary Lewistown

The 11 a.m. Sunday worship service for Calvary Evangelical Church will be presented by Erica Murphy of New England Valley, Tamaqua. Special music will be presented. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

At 6:30 p.m. Sunday, the congregation will meet to watch the sunset as they sing, share their faith and read God’s Holy Word.

The Wednesday prayer group will meet at 7 p.m.

All summer services are held from the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley.

The Adult Sunday School will meet at 9:30 a.m.
