Jim Thorpe’s 11-12 squad and Tamaqua’s 9-10 team both posted Panther Valley Little League tournament wins on Tuesday.

Anthracite-Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe used a six-run third inning to break a tie and held on for a 13-9 victory over Anthracite.

Alex Eckert had two hits, one a double, scored a run and knocked in one for the winners. Jase Hollenbach added a hit and two RBIs, while Liam Thompson scored twice and drove in two.

The winners also received a triple and an RBI from Eduardo Camacho, and Owen Hosier tripled and scored a pair of runs. Bentley Heydt and Mason Pruitte chipped in with a hit and two runs.

For Anthracite, Ayden Diaz had two doubles and three RBIs while Liam McCormick contributed a hit and two RBIs. Owen Demanovich and Parker Boyle both ended with a hit and a pair of runs.

Tamaqua-Jim Thorpe

George Pinkey knocked in four runs, while Lucas Brennan and Sylis Setlock each drove in two to help Tamaqua gain a 13-9 victory over Jim Thorpe.

Luke Tuckett went 3-for-3 at the plate for the winners, who used an eight-run sixth inning to offset a one-run deficit.

Pinkey had a triple, while Setlock and Tuckett had a double. Max Field and Camdyn Lux each contributed two hits and two runs.

For Thorpe, Patrick Burdyn finished 3-for-3 with two doubles, a run and an RBI. Kaiden Calcano ended with a pair of hits and three runs, while Liam Kattner added two hits and two RBIs.
