Jim Thorpe rolled to a win over Towamensing Monday in the opening game of the Panther Valley Little League 9-10 tournament.

Winston Engelbert led a Jim Thorpe offensive attack that resulted in a 21-5 victory over Towamensing.

Engelbert had two hits, scored three times and knocked in four runs for Thorpe, which scored seven runs in three different innings.

The winners also received a pair of hits and three RBIs from Liam Kattner, while Jacob McElmoyle added two hits, two runs and an RBI.

Eli Knopf chipped in with a hit and three runs, with Colton Chapman, Patrick Burdyn and Ben Swanson all adding a hit and two runs.

For Towamensing, Jonathon Frei finished with a pair of hits and two RBIs. Lukas Robertson delivered a triple and scored twice, while Bo Knepper had a double and an RBI.
