The Schuylkill County Conservancy has announced activities for this month.

• From 2-3:30 p.m. July 18, “En Plein Air — Flowers and Pollinators” will be held at the Penn State Master Gardeners demonstration garden at First United Church of Christ, 110 Route 61, Schuylkill Haven.

Bring your nature journal, easel and canvas, or a notebook and pencil, and let the garden inspire your creativity. Take a closer look at the plants and pollinators, appreciate their beauty and learn why they are important.

No art experience is needed. Rain will cancel. No pets are permitted.

The event is free.

• A free sawmill tour will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. July 25 at Seigel Sawmill, 3901 Sweet Arrow Lake Road, Pine Grove.

The tour will offer a behind the scenes look at an active sawmill. During the tour, attendees will see logs sawed into lumber, see how lumber is stacked and air-dried, and learn how lumber is graded for quality.

They will also hear about the process of buying logs, selling lumber and managing by-products such as sawdust and wood debris.
