The Schuylkill County Conservancy will have its annual meeting and dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 at Penn State Schuylkill’s R. Fryer Conference Center.

Porcupine Pat McKinney will present “Schuylkill County Helped Build a Nation.” He will speak about how the county hosted the world’s largest steam engine, purchased America’s first automobile and contributed proudly to the nation’s growth.

The program will be presented in honor of America250PA, highlighting Pennsylvania’s groundbreaking achievements that moved the country forward.

There is a cost. Deadline for reservations is Sept. 4.
