A Kunkletown man was hurt in a motorcycle crash at 6:32 p.m. May 11 on the on-ramp to Interstate 476 (Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike) southbound in Franklin Township.

State police at the Pocono barracks said Patrick M. Maranuk, 40, was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Yamaha on the ramp when he failed to negotiate left turn in the roadway and the cycle struck a guiderail. Police said he was wearing a helmet at the time.

They said the cycle was towed from the scene.

Police said Maranuk was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
