Entertainment around the area

The Wallflowers, marking the 30th anniversary of sophomore album “Bringing Down the Horse,” leads the entertainment highlights coming to local and regional venues over the next couple of weeks.

The group, for which frontman Jakob Dylan remains the only constant member, will perform the aforementioned album in its entirety at Penn’s Peak. The Peak also hosts, among others, George Thorogood and the Destroyers and Cinderella’s Tom Keifer Band.

Over in Stroudsburg, alternative rock band Sponge plays Signature Brewery & Saloon. The group, like The Wallflowers, released its sophomore studio album — “Wax Ecstatic” — in 1996.

Wind Creek Event Center and the State Theatre, meanwhile, welcome Jim Breuer and the “Funny Women of a Certain Age” show, respectively.
