Crafters display wares at fire company show

Towamensing Township Fire Company hosted a craft fair Saturday planned by Nadalyn Imbriaco from Spark Events LLC.

Imbriaco became an event planner after helping her parents as vendors at craft fairs. She does all the advertising for the event, rents the hall and bought 15 baskets for a basket raffle.

“I wanted to do events that benefit crafters and vendors and try to be cost effective,” Imbriaco said.

Matthew Baker has been doing mixed media for 12 years.

He explained, “Whatever strikes me, whether it’s miniatures or papier-mâché or collages.”

His current work interest has been miniatures, including an outdoor scene with a tiny gnome hiding in the back.

Local author Diane Gerber, who writes under the name Autumn Jordan, had her books for sale, which include local settings. “Witness to Evil” and “Presence of Evil” are set in Lehighton.

Gerber has been writing for 15 years and published for nine years.

FBI agents were conduction investigations at a trucking company where she worked as a corporate secretary. Gerber said that she “questioned them while they were questioning her to learn information for her books.”

Photographer Tammy Colvenbach has been selling her nature photography for five years. She enjoys photographing “Mostly nature, country, but my favorite thing is woodland critters,” she said.

Colvenbach makes scenes with teeny chairs, benches shovels and other outdoor objects and hopes that one of those critters will sit on her creations.

She has been very lucky as she has been able to photograph chipmunks enjoying the lounge chairs she made.

Jewelry, baked goods, paintings and more were among the 36 six crafters and artisans at the fire company.
