In unrelated cases, men sentenced for sex assault, possessing abuse images

Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that two men were sentenced to state prison for separate sexual misconduct crimes in Luzerne County.

Miguel A. Nunez, 40, of Shenandoah, was sentenced to 39 to 78 months for aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault of a woman dancing at a gentlemen’s club in 2022.

Dominic A. Murphy, 26, of Lycoming County, was sentenced to 32 to 64 months in prison plus five years of probation for possessing hundreds of images of child sexual abuse material.

“These convictions and state prison sentences should send a message that sexual deviance will not be tolerated in Pennsylvania,” Sunday said. “I commend our team and the partners involved in investigations that led to successful prosecutions of these two defendants.”

Both sentences were ordered Thursday in Luzerne County Court.

Nunez was convicted in November after a three-day trial. As part of the sentence, he must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Murphy pleaded guilty last year to several felonies regarding material found by the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section. As part of the sentence, Murphy must register as a sex offender for 15 years.
