‘Christmas at The Pines opens Saturday

The Pines Dinner Theatre embraces the holidays with “Christmas at the Pines,” beginning Saturday through Dec. 28.

“Christmas at the Pines” was written by Pines co-owner Oliver Blatt in 2009 and has become a staple of Pines’ holiday schedule.

Blatt directs the musical, which includes seasonal favorites “Jingle Bells,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),” “Let it Snow” and “Home for the Holidays.”

The storyline zooms the small ensemble cast to Hawaii, complete with singers and dancers in Hawaiian shirts and hula skirts; back to the Old West, with a cowboy chorus, and to New England, for a Victorian Christmas.

The show includes a Nativity scene and a cameo by Santa Claus.

Pines also is producing “Santa’s Christmas Sing-Along Celebration” from 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Nov. 28. There are photos with Santa after the show.

Tickets are for shows only. Food will be available à la carte.

Several dinner/show times for “Christmas at the Pines” are available. The times are: a noon dinner and 1:30 p.m. show on Thursdays and Sundays; 6 p.m. dinner, 7:30 p.m. show on Fridays; and noon dinner, 1:30 p.m. show, or 6 p.m. dinner, 7:30 p.m. show on Saturdays.
