Schuylkill Fair wrapping up

Today is Country Day at the Schuylkill County Fair.

Gates open to the fairgrounds in Summit Station at 4 p.m. Amusement rides open at 4 p.m., and a tractor parade takes off from the main gate at 4:30 p.m.

Cowboy/Cowgirl mini pictures will be taken from the horse barn from 5-6:30 p.m. An equine demonstration will be held at 5:30 p.m. from the horse barn.

The Red Creek Wildlife Center will be on hand at 6 p.m., and a threshing demonstration will be held at 6 p.m. near the main gate.

Kids and adult hay bale toss happens at 7 p.m. from the kids arena. DJ Chicken Nugget will have line dancing at the agricultural arena at 7 p.m. At 7 and 9 p.m., Alyssa and Wayne Brewer will perform a tribute to George Jones and Tammy Wynette from the main stage.

The fair concludes Saturday, with gates openings at 11 a.m. The 4-H/FFA Master Showman contest will be held at 11 a.m. at the agricultural arena. At 1:30 p.m., a tractor parade will take off from the main gate. Cowboy/Cowgirl mini pictures will be taken from 2 to 4 p.m. from the horse barn.

At 3 p.m., livestock judging gets underway from the agricultural arena. Goodtime Amusements open their rides at 4 p.m. A princess parade takes off from the main gate at 4 p.m., and a kiddie parade follows at 5 p.m.

The Keystone Herpetological Institute will present a program at 6 p.m. An equine demonstration will be held at 7 p.m. at the horse barn. DJ Chicken Nugget will host line dancing at the agricultural arena. At 7 and 9 p.m., Classic Skynyrd Live performed by Southern Steel will be at the main stage.

Sunday is Cleanup Day and all exhibits can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
