Spelling champions of the junior and senior classes of Marian and Panther Valley high schools were announced this week by John G. Leach, director of education at Goldey Beacom School of Business, Wilmington, Delaware. The school annually conducts a spelling contest in the Middle Atlantic States area.

Winning top honors at Panther Valley was Kathy Lotwick, who won the senior class competition. The contest was not given this year to junior students.

The top spots among Marian seniors was shared in a tie between Joanne Kane and Christine Fisher. The junior class first place finisher was Dennis Boyle.
