For the third consecutive year, James McConnell will be the grand marshal of the Tamaqua Memorial Day Parade.

McConnell, a World War I veteran, was selected for the honor by the United Veterans Association of Tamaqua.

This year’s program will be in memory of Lucian W. Nicholls, past commander of V.F.W. Post 1091, Tamaqua.

Nicholas J. Young will be the master of ceremonies and the main speaker will be Paul Sheers, Schuylkill County sheriff, with an address to be given by Wanda Heisler, the B.P.W. Girl of the Year. The Rev. Russell Funk will ask the invocation and pronounce the benediction. The Tamaqua Area High School Band will perform.
