Sunday worship with Holy Communion and the Rite of Confirmation at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton begins at 9:30 a.m. Synodically Approved Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. Coffeehouse fellowship is in Luther Hall afterward.

Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Northeastern PA. Synod will gather for the 34th annual convention at Trinity on Saturday. Opening worship begins at 10 a.m., followed by the synodical organizations business. The theme: Holy Places. Reports of ministries of local through global involvement are expected. The event concludes at 4 p.m.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours in May are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trinitythriftstore.

Movie Night will be held in Luther Hall at 7 p.m. on May 18. Free admission to view “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” starring Harrison Ford. Popcorn, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase to benefit Youth Group activities.

Looking ahead is Vacation Bible School with Zion UCC, to be held at Trinity July 22-24, 6-8 p.m. Young people ages 3 through grade 6 are invited to “Start the Party: Celebrate the Good News.” Free registration.

Ben Salem UCC

Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Road, Lehighton will hold an 8 a.m. worship service with a Praise Band; 10:15 a.m. traditional service; and Sunday school classes at 9 a.m. Communion will be served the first Sunday of each month.

• Sunday: Confirmation Sunday with Communion is held at 10:15 a.m.

• Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Senior Choir Practice

• Thursday at 6:45 p.m., Handbell Choir Practice

• King’s Kids Choir will practice the first and second Sunday of the month following the 10:15 worship service. Any child interested in joining, please contact the church for further contact information.

• King’s Kids Choir will sing the third Sunday of the month.

Upcoming Events:

• May 26: Weather permitting, outdoor Memorial Day service, 9 a.m., followed by a memorial service at the cemetery by the UVO.

• June 9: Strawberry social, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Music by Lost and Found.

• Vacation Bible School: June 17-21 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is “Celebrating God’s Greatness.”

• Summer worship schedule for June, July and August will be 9 a.m. Sunday school will resume on Sept. 8.
