An unprecedented number of candidates are on the Primary Election ballot for positions on the Summit Hill Borough Council, where 19 people are aspiring to win five nominations that will be awarded in each party, as per a Carbon Court order.

The Democratic candidates include Michael Leonzi Jr., Patrick J. Kane, Cosmo Arieta, Joseph S. Kozuch, Daniel J. Bynon, Clement C. McLaughlin Jr., Kathleen Lanzos, Ignatius Bilka, James J. Bennek, William J. Mansberry, Robert Kopack, Donald Rusnak, Robert Risavy and Patrick J. Rutch Jr.

Republican candidates are Donald J. Walker, Thomas F. Nothstein, John J. Galgoci, Rose Celotti and Frances P. Derby.
