State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• Ronald Rausch, 23, of Palmerton, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after police investigated an incident that happened between 12:32 a.m. March 5 and 2:06 p.m. March 26 at a property on Dairy Road, Lower Towamensing Township. A 46-year-old woman from Palmerton reported the theft of jewelry worth about $3,000. Police said through their investigation they learned Rausch had stolen the jewelry and sold it at a local pawnshop, resulting in him being criminally charged.

• A 40-year-old Weissport man was stopped for driving a bicycle while being under the influence of drugs.

Police said it happened at 5:19 p.m. March 3 at 962 State Road, Parryville.

• Police said a man was stopped for driving under the influence of a controlled substance at 10:47 a.m. March 1.

It happened on Lehigh Drive in Lehigh Township.

• Police are investigating a burglary that was reported at 1:46 p.m. Feb. 29. It happened at a property on Dinkey Road, East Penn Township. The occupants of the home are a 43-yearold woman from Lehighton and a 42-year-old man from Marienville.

• Police were called to a dissemination of intimate image case at a property on James Drive, Ross Township, at 12 a.m. Feb. 28.

The person who reported the incident is a 20-year-old woman from Saylorsburg who said a suspect sent unclothed photographs of her without her consent/permission.

• A 59-year-old Nesquehoning man is facing drug possession charges as well as charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 9:12 p.m. April 1. They stopped him in a 2017 Acura RDX, after which time he submitted to a chemical test of his blood. A search of the vehicle resulted in police finding drugs and drug paraphernalia.

• A 40-year-old Kunkletown man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop police made at 2:08 a.m. April 2.

He was stopped in a 2001 Ford Explorer for Motor Vehicle Code violations in the 9100 block of Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.

• Tiffany Hittner, 41, and Ronald McDermott, 67, both of Palmerton, were cited for harassment after police responded to an active domestic incident at 5:56 p.m. April 2. It happened at 440 Strohl Drive, Towamensing Township.

• Police said an 18-year-old man from Palmerton is facing drug possession charges. They were called at 8:05 a.m. March 27 to Fireline Road on Lower Towamensing Township to investigate the incident.

• A 39-year-old woman from Summit Hill and a 41-year-old woman from Coplay were cited for disorderly conduct after police were called to an incident at 1:20 p.m. March 25.

It happened at 5255 Pohopoco Drive, Towamensing Township. Police said they were called to the site to investigate a report of two woman who parked a 2013 Kia Soul at an abandoned house and were observed walking the property.

• Police said they were called to 430 E. Bertsch St. Lansford, at 9:07 a.m. March 24 for a report of a baby walking outside with no supervision. The investigation is ongoing.

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Police investigated a crash at 3:10 p.m. March 31 at the intersection of Spruce Road and Forest Drive in Lower Towamensing Township.

It involved a 2017 Ford Edge, resulting in the arrest of a 43-year-old Palmerton woman for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Palmerton EMS, the Aquashicola Fire Department and a local towing service responded to the scene to assist police.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 7:26 p.m. March 28 on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. Police said Glen T. Segond, 75, of East Stroudsburg, was driving a 2017 Volkswagen Golf southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. The car sustained moderate damages and was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.
