Police release details of Schuylkill motorcycle crash

Police have released details of a serious crash Sunday in Schuylkill County.

Zachary J. Bodolus, 18, Douglassville, was injured in a crash involving a motorcycle that happened at 2:04 p.m. Sunday on Hawk Mountain Road in East Brunswick Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said he was transported by personnel from the New Ringgold Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.

Police said he was driving a 2003 Kawasaki Softail Deuce eastbound and was negotiating a right curve in the road when he failed to maintain his lane of travel. The cycle went into a slide, landing on its right side, at which time it struck a 2023 Toyota Tacoma operated westbound by Kelby C. Sivek, 28, of West Chester.

Police said the motorcycle was towed from the scene by the victim’s father. The Tacoma had minor damages and was able to be driven from the scene.

Police said Bodolus was cited for the incident.

Neither Sivek nor a passenger with him was injured.
