ON THIS DATE APRIL 16, 1970

John McFadden, a member of the PUSH Party (People United for Summit Hill) was elected youth mayor during the general election held Wednesday in the borough hall.

He defeated Bennett Davis of the CASH (Concerned About Summit Hill) party.

The PUSH party won 10 of the 15 offices. Maureen Kennedy, Joe Carnish, Peggy Knittle, Carol Makara and Laura Castagnola were winners for council; John Sipko was elected magistrate; Tim Cadden, solicitor; Cheryl Koshuta, tax collector; and Noreen Cadden, a seat on the school board.

Debbie Dubosky, James Whitehead, Joseph Vermillion and Becky Stoudt won council seats as CASH members. Debbie Serena on a school board seat.
