Four men from Carbon County are included in the class of 88 state troopers to be graduated from the State Police Academy in Hershey next Wednesday.

They are James E. Boyle, Jim Thorpe; Joseph V. Pampanin, Summit Hill; Joseph F. Perricone, Nesquehoning; and Paul E. Bickelman, Weatherly.

State Police Commissioner E. Wilson Purdy announced the assignments of all of the new troopers to various rosters throughout the state. Trooper Pampanin has been assigned to Troop B, Lancaster; Bickelman, Troop C, Blakeley; and Boyle and Perricone, Troop A, Harrisburg.

The graduates will bring to 2,142 the number of officers in the department, including 185 assigned to patrol the PA Turnpike.
