Annual cancer telethon set for Penn’s Peak stage

The American Cancer Telethon will be broadcast live from Penn’s Peak from noon to midnight Saturday and Sunday. The show will air on Blue Ridge Cable and surrounding cable channels and livestreamed on YouTube. Check cancertelethon.org and the Cancer Telethon Facebook page for updates.

The show features constant local entertainment and recognizes those who are battling cancer.

This year, a special cancer fighter award will be presented to the family of 2-year-old Evan Paul of Tamaqua.

Evan has been battling eye cancer. See the interview at 7:20 p.m. Saturday.

Three people will be recognized in the 7 o’clock hour Sunday for their fight against cancer. Courage award honorees are Melissa Haas of Emmaus, Tom McCarroll Sr. of Tamaqua and Kerry Jones Uher of Lansford.
