NCC holds registration for summer youth event

Northampton Community College’s Horizons for Youth program is celebrating 30 years of providing K-9 children enriching classes at the college.

To date, the program has impacted more than 45,000 youth and has offered over 7,000 classes in subjects like the arts, sciences, fitness, crafts, technology and more.

Held at both Bethlehem and Pocono Campus locations, the classes help children explore new passions and make new friends. For many students, HFY affords them their first experience taking a class on a college campus. Additionally, HFY is known for its incredible wrap-around childcare for busy working parents.

Making an impact on community members, including those at NCC, the program offers 20-25 classes per week, organized by grade levels.

Steve Goosley, long-time fishing instructor for HFY, published a book, “Fishing with Steve,” which was inspired by his fishing adventures with children in HFY classes.

Amy Klotz attended HFY as a child, became a camp counselor, and is now an adjunct at the college. She says that NCC has been a part of her family since childhood, and now, she shares that with her kids who attend the Horizons for Youth programs.

Find the HFY summer program catalog online, and register early for the K-9 graders in your life, as classes fill quickly.
