The Carbon County Emergency Management Agency will hold a Community Emergency Response Team disaster preparedness training on April 13 and 14.
The class is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the EMA, 1264 Emergency Lane, Nesquehoning. Attendance of both sessions is required for course completion credit.
The CERT program is designed to help residents help their neighbors. The course teaches first aid and triage, disaster preparedness, fire suppression, search and rescue and terrorism awareness.
Those who finish the course become trained civilian volunteers to help and assist the municipal emergency service organizations in their communities.
