There’s still no word on when the Barnesville Post Office might reopen.
The 2 Grier Ave. site was shut down more than a month ago - on Feb. 20 - because of what the U.S. Postal Service referred to as “unsanitary work conditions.”
Contacted Wednesday, a USPS spokesman said the postal service couldn’t estimate when the post office might reopen.
“USPS has no update at the moment as we are awaiting additional work to be performed,” the official said.
While rural delivery is not impacted, those who had picked up their mail in Barnesville must travel to the Tamaqua Post Office to get it.
A mail collection box outside the Barnesville post office was also removed.
