Wind advisory in effect through Saturday afternoon

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 8 tonight to 5 p.m. Saturday. South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.

Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Southeast winds will increase this evening. Extremely saturated soils due to previous rainfall events may result in trees and power poles being more susceptible to wind. There will be a lull in the winds early Saturday morning before shifting to the west and increasing again with gusts near 40 to 50 mph.

Rain, mixed with snow, will be moving in tonight. Several instances of flooding are possible, especially in urban and poor-drainage areas and near vulnerable small creeks and streams.

Windy conditions may cause isolated instances of tree damage and power outages.
