Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following last week:

Curriculum

• An affiliation agreement between Northern Lehigh School District and DeSales University for a teacher preparation program to allow students at DeSales University to student teach in the Northern Lehigh School District in order for them to complete their practicum hours needed for graduation. The agreement is in effect through Nov. 19, 2028.

• Amanda Barianna, helping teacher for Brian Skrapits, $800, and Gabyrlla Wilder, helping teacher, for Skrapits, $200, in the Northern Lehigh School District Induction Program for the 2023-2024 school year.

• Mark Nicosia, mentor, for Mark Thomas, new employee, $100; Scott Prebosnyak, mentor, for Thomas, $100; Karen Beltz, mentor, for Monica Stoeckel, new employee, $200; and Tricia Waylen, mentor, for Tina Yocum, new employee, $200, in accordance with the Northern Lehigh School District Administrative Support Staff Agreement.

Conferences

• Blasia Dunham, PETE & C, Feb. 5-6, Hershey Lodge, Hershey, registration $210, lodging, $160, travel, $98, and meals, $70, for a total cost of about $538, to be funded from the assistant superintendent’s professional development budget.

• Nichole Fink, PASBO Food Service Bootcamp, Dec. 12, Harrisburg, registration, $130, lodging, $0, travel, $106, meals, $0, for a total cost of about $236, to be funded from the food services budget.

• Mark Nicosia, municipal police officer firearm instructor, Jan. 8-12, Pennsylvania State Police Troop P Headquarters, Wilkes-Barre, registration, $500, travel, $548, meals, $125, and other, $294, for a total of $1,468, to be funded from the school police budget.
