Summit Hill’s newly-purchased rescue truck “is working out really well and had enhanced the capabilities” of the company, according to Diligence Fiore Company No. 1 Assistant Chief Joseph Mitchalk.

The vehicle, which came with a price tag of $113,000, was delivered in October. It is a 1993, 4900 Series International Chassis with a Kovatch Mobile Equipment body.

The unit would have cost $160,000 but Kovatch cut the cost when the fire company agreed to let it be used as a model, including at a show in Dallas.

The purchase was financed by about $55,000 in donations and a two percent loan from the PA Emergency Management Agency’s Volunteer Fireman’s Loan Association.
